Rideshare giant Lyft has confirmed a strategic partnership with Bee Maps, a decentralized mapping platform powered by Hivemapper, to enhance its geospatial capabilities. The collaboration, initiated in 2024, focuses on sourcing street-level data to optimize routing algorithms and advance autonomous vehicle development.

Unlike crowdsourced models, Lyft’s arrangement involves purely licensing Bee Maps’ existing datasets—no driver-contributed data is utilized. The MOVE signals growing enterprise adoption of blockchain-based infrastructure for mission-critical operations.
